I hear what you're saying about the F40. Just before I moved from the UK I saw a couple of people taking their cars out for a chase around my local roads. I'd lived there for 5 years and never seen them before. A 911 Turbo S (http://vista.pca.org/stl/993turs.htm) being followed by his friend in an F40.
There were gone in a heartbeat with the F40 wailing off into the distance. Two of my favorite cars, together then gone in 20 seconds.
I was really hoping to see the F40 running, but it didn't stay long at the event and was gone the next time I passed through the parking lot. I don't suppose it sounded any better than the FXX but still, hearing it would've completed the experience. I take that back--driving it would complete the experience. ;)
